Program Information

Meet the experts of neuroscience this summer! Brain Facts is an intensive and hands-on program focused on neuroscience, taught by internationally-renowned brain research scientists.

These leading specialists will introduce you to the mysteries of the brain and mental health. One series of lectures analyses what we learn from brain disorders; topics include congenital hydrocephalus and human stem cell models for brain diseases. Another series focuses on how gene variants affect human behavior, personality, and creativity. Sessions on neuroanatomy will familiarize you with memory and synaptic functions.

You’ll experience brain research first-hand as you conduct your own lab experiments in state-of-the-art facilities. Course topics touch on an array of scientific disciplines including physics, medicine, and psychology; upon completing Brain Facts you’ll have the skills to analyze and discuss important issues faced by the scientific community.

Eligibility Requirements

Only Canadian citizens are eligible to receive CLIC support.

Open to graduate and undergraduate students at all six CLIC member universities. Students from biology or medical science fields are preferred.

Note: Credit transfer has only been approved of at the University of Alberta and University of Ottawa. Students from other CLIC member universities must submit course documentation to their faculty for credit transfer approval. Contact the CLIC office (info@clicstudyinchina.com) to help you to get the documents for credit transfer approval.

Application Procedure

Apply with your home university to receive your travel grant.

Complete an application with the China Scholarship Council.

Once you have been accepted by the Canadian CLIC member university, you will be nominated to the program by the CLIC office.

Application Deadline

Check with your home university. Each Canadian university has its own deadlines for Summer programs.
